Statement and Reflection on Anti-Black Racism, Oppression and Equity at Cycle Toronto
As an organization we are taking pause to reflect on who we are and who we want to be. We acknowledge that we have not created safe and inclusive spaces for Black and racialized communities, Indigenous Peoples, and other marginalized groups.
Wednesdays during October we’ll be setting up our orange tent at locations around the city to talk to people about road safety and the importance of lighting from dusk until dawn. Then we’ll hand out a free set of lights to help them on their way home.
Riding and Recovery Workshops
Riding a bike is a safe, efficient way to get around while maintaining physical distancing, and a great way to stay active for physical and mental health. It’s with this in mind that Cycle Toronto is collaborating with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health’s (CAMH) Recovery College to deliver a series of free workshops.
What we do
We engage a diversity of people in our work, pursuing evidence-based solutions that make cycling a viable option for all Torontonians.
We work to bring protected bike lanes on major streets as our main priority.
Bike lanes alone are not enough. We bring safe cycling education to people from all walks of life.
We create fun ways to reduce barriers to riding more often.
The movement for safer streets needs people like you. Time, energy, knowledge, money, and enthusiasm are welcomed.
