Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications & Digital Marketing Manager will oversee all communications channels and help develop Cycle Toronto’s culture and impact.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead the strategy, production and distribution of new written and visual communications and promotional pieces (e.g., photography, videos, promotional messaging, presentations, infographics, partner deliverables, merchandise) for campaigns, programs and membership
Create innovative and engaging content and maintain Cycle Toronto’s social media channels, website, Ring & Post e-newsletter, and online profiles
Lead the creative direction and work with designers to produce compelling graphic and web materials for campaigns, programs, and events, ensuring brand consistency, accurate messaging, and vibrant engagement.
Produce creative briefs, ensure brand standards are implemented, and modify graphics / use Cycle Toronto’s graphic toolkit as needed
Work with photographers, videographers, and web developers to produce promotional content
Deliver strong communications to members and donors and help ensure member and donor fundraising targets are met
Develop media releases and action alerts related to priority advocacy campaigns and programs
Evaluate and maintain up-to-date records of media coverage, web analytics, partner & business member deliverables, event attendance, and other metrics
Qualifications:
Rides a bicycle for transportation and is passionate about the role of cycling in local politics, inclusivity, and city-building
Post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent experience. Preference for designation in communications, marketing, fundraising, public relations or related field to the position
Professional work experience in communications, fundraising and/or marketing with or within not-for-profit organizations
Demonstrates proficiency in writing and editing compelling content for a variety of mediums and contexts
Experience with and passion for social media and its ability to change the conversation
Experience in developing and maintaining brand presence across all communications channels
Has led or helped to lead graphic campaigns and is able to produce compelling web and communications materials
Working knowledge of Adobe Design Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Demonstrates professionalism in working with a variety of stakeholders of diverse interests and backgrounds
Comfortable both leading and taking direction and can prioritize multiple projects under competing deadlines
Entrepreneurial and results-driven, taking initiative to grow Cycle Toronto’s audience and impact
Strong Assets:
Experience with Drupal, CMS databases, CSS and/or HTML
Professional graphic design certification and/or experience
Terms of Employment:
Full time employment. 3 month probationary period. 40 hours per week to start immediately. $42,000-$45,000 per year (pro rated), with benefits and competitive vacation package. Successful applicant must be a current member of Cycle Toronto.
