Cycle Toronto is hiring a Communications & Digital Marketing Manager. This is a full-time, permanent position that reports to the Executive Director. The Communications & Digital Marketing Manager will oversee all communication channels, help develop and expand Cycle Toronto’s brand and awareness, and lead communication strategies that achieve advocacy and fundraising goals. Working collaboratively with other members of the team, this position develops, maintains and administers successful digital communications including social media, website management, online fundraising, advocacy campaigns, e-newsletter development, marketing materials and data management.

Terms of Employment
- Full-time permanent position
- Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 per year (prorated) based on experience, with health benefits, three weeks vacation, a 3 month probationary period
- Reports to: Executive Director
- Location: Hybrid
- Cell phone usage subsidy per month (up to $50).
The position:
The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of digital content creation and is a superior digital communicator with a gift for producing a visually compelling and well written story. They are a natural collaborator that thrives in a fast-paced and supportive environment. Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy, production and distribution of new written and visual communications and promotional pieces (e.g., photography, videos, promotional messaging, Annual Report, presentations, infographics, partner deliverables for campaigns, programs and membership drives)
- Oversee and produce the communication deliverables for key programs: Bike Month, Big Toronto Bike Ride Fundraiser, Coalition Election Campaign, StreetSmartsTO Program
- Create innovative and engaging digital content and maintain Cycle Toronto’s social media channels, website, Ring & Post e-newsletter, and online profiles using digital engagement tools and strategies (e.g. Hootsuite, Canva, Facebook Ads, SEO)
- Lead the creative direction and work with designers to produce compelling graphic and web materials for campaigns, programs, and events, ensuring brand consistency and accurate messaging
- Produce creative briefs, ensure brand standards are implemented, using Cycle Toronto’s graphic toolkit
- Able to capture compelling photos and videos to support digital and promotional content for a range of programs and events
- Deliver engaging communications to supporters, members and donors and help ensure member engagement and donor fundraising targets are met (in collaboration with the Director of Advocacy and Public Policy, and Director of Partnerships and Engagement)
- Develop media releases and action alerts related to priority advocacy campaigns and programs; support the planning and execution of press conferences
- Manage monthly online mailing schedule to deliver coordinated and impactful messaging across thematic areas
- Evaluate and maintain up-to-date records of media coverage, web analytics, social media, partner & business member deliverables, event attendance, and other metrics to track performance and conversions as needed
Qualifications:
- Relevant work experience with a minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a professional communications position
- Strong writing and editing skills with demonstrated ability to write effectively for different audiences across all communications channels
- Experience working for a non-profit or advocacy organization; active transportation, environmental, social services, community health or other social justice sector work is an asset
- Website content management skills and experience using CRMs; previous work with NationBuilder would be an asset
- Media engagement and public relations experience
- Social media management and content development experience
- A commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Experience with digital campaigning tactics and tools would be an asset
- Graphic design and website development skills would be an asset
- Ability to produce compelling web and communication materials
- Able to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Collaborative team player, who also works well independently
- Working knowledge of Adobe Design Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Comfortable both leading and taking direction
Strong Assets:
- Experience with CMS databases, CSS and/or HTML
- Background in fundraising or sponsorship
- Professional graphic design certification and/or experience
- Ability to speak and write in additional languages
