Our city has been facing a crisis in road safety. The City has tried to increase the amount of funding in the pursuit of Vision Zero, but little will change without consistent advocacy. We need to compel the city to build out better infrastructure, more protective policies, with more automated enforcement as soon as possible. Please support my ride so that the amazing advocacy work done by Cycle Toronto can continue to encourage a faster roll out of road safety interventions.
As an advocate for healthy living, I am a firm believer in making our communities accessible and safe for everyone to be active. Whether that activity is for leisure or as part of a daily commute, we need communities and streets designed for safety for all ages and abilities. When I am not walking in Toronto, I am often cycling. I ride on the Martin Goodman Trail frequently and highly recommend it. I ride downtown Toronto often and recommend it only if you are are very comfortable with the anxiety of being on high alert to the risk of poor driving behaviour and even poorer infrastructure for cycling. Please donate to my fund-raising efforts on behalf of the outstanding advocacy work of Cycle Toronto which fights every day for safe streets for everyone Toronto. This year’s contributions will help Cycle Toronto make an impact on the municipal election and beyond. They are working hard to elevate road safety, to extend the lanes on Bloor, and introduce protected bike lanes on Danforth Ave, and more. I hope I can count on you!
