Toronto continues to face a crisis in road safety. In 2018 there were 66 traffic fatalities: 40 of those were pedestrians and 4 were cyclists. Together that consists of 67% of all road traffic fatalities. I'm riding to make a difference because we need to ACT, if we are going to TRANSFORM Toronto into a road safety leader. The money raised through the Ride for Safe Streets will be used to advocate for safer streets for cyclists including creating better infrastructure that makes the city safer and more pleasant for everyone: pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, users of public transit. Please donate now to my campaign to raise money for the continued advocacy required to improve our lives very directly as residents and visitors to Toronto.
Over the past few years you may have noticed improvements to Toronto cycling infrastructure and walkability. This has happened because of CONSISTENT ADVOCACY. I believe that Cycle Toronto has played an important role in this advocacy and the resulting positive change in Toronto streets. I am riding in the Ride for Safe Streets on Saturday, September 21 and fund-raising along with that effort to support CycleTO with this transformational work. We need to keep advocating for better infrastructure, more protective policies for vulnerable road users, and enforcement of these policies. I need your help! Supporting my ride for safe streets will allow Cycle Toronto to continue advocating for a faster roll out of road safety interventions. The organization is working hard to elevate road safety, to build the promised lanes on Bloor Street, Danforth Avenue, Eglinton Avenue, and more. Making Toronto a city that is bicycle friendly directly improves the lives of everyone -- pedestrians and drivers too! Even if you don't live here, it will be a nicer place when you come to visit. And you'll want to visit! Please donate now and be part of the change that is making Toronto streets safer and healthier for everyone! Thank you!
