On June 30, 2017, my good friend, fellow cyclist and advocate Gary Sim was struck and killed by a car while cycling near his home.
This, and countless other senseless tragedies should be easily avoided. Toronto is facing a crisis in road safety. I'm riding in memory of Gary Sim to make a difference, and elevate the need to transform Toronto into a road safety leader. The City introduced Vision Zero 2.0, but little will change without consistent advocacy. We need to compel the city to build out better infrastructure, more protective policies, with more automated enforcement as soon as possible. Supporting my ride for safe streets will help Cycle Toronto continue advocating for a faster roll out of road safety interventions. We're working hard to elevate road safety, to build the promised lanes on Bloor St, Danforth Ave, and Eglinton. Donate now and you'll support the fight for safe streets and a healthier city for all. Please donate now. I hope I can count on you!
